
In Ukrainian, makova means ‘of the poppy’ — the folk symbol of rest, dreams, and coming home, woven through embroidery and poetry for centuries. We put our names on the can and the poppy in the drink.
We’re Constantine and Madina — Ukrainian and Uzbek, married, building businesses and training hard in the US. Our evenings had a ritual: stop, breathe, recover, together.
We couldn’t find a drink for that moment that wasn’t alcohol, caffeine, or neon. So we spent a year formulating one — and named it after us, because we drink it too. Every night.
